Raymond ‘Gene’ McGraw

CALCUTTA — Raymond “Gene” McGraw, 90, of Calcutta, passed away while surrounded by his loving family on January 10, 2021.

Born on January 23, 1930 in Chagrin, Ohio, he was the son of the late William and Gladys (Croft) McGraw.

Gene was the co-owner of J&R Builders. He was an avid Cleveland Browns Fan and a member of the House of Prayer.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Thomas McGraw.

Surviving are his loving wife Gladys (Croft) McGraw, whom he married Jan 17, 1986; three daughters, Barbara (Mike) Kerns of Wellsville, Candy (John) Bailey of Chester and Kathy McGraw of Calcutta; a son, Jeff (Tonya) McGraw of Wellsville; a stepdaughter, Kim McConnell (Rick Shultz) East Liverpool; two stepsons, Bert McConnell of Calcutta and Richie (Marcy) McConnell of East Liverpool; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother Robert (Babe) McGraw of Wellsville.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Hospice of the Valley.

Private arrangements were handled by the Nixon Funeral Home.
