The tennis team competed at districts Saturday. The Wildcats fell, 4-1, to an undefeated Altoona team (14-0). Kati Kwiatek was the lone winner, winning 6-7, 6-2, 10-4.
The football team is now 4-1 after an impressive 41-27 win over Shamokin on Friday night. The Wildcats rattled off a 34-point second half to win their second consecutive game. It’s the best start for a football season for the Wildcats in at least 20 years.
Ryan Pentz rushed for 237 yards and three touchdowns.
Cross country competed against Loyalsock on Tuesday. In the boys race, Asher Talbot placed fourth and Bryce Gray finished fifth. Sophia Dressler won the girls race as Maddie Jones and Gianna Dressler followed to finish in the top 3. The cross country team also ran against Selinsgrove on Thursday. Talbot and Gray both finished in the top 10 in the boys race and Sophia Dressler placed fifth on the girls side.
Volleyball finished the week with a 3-0 record and wins over Shamokin, Hollidaysburg and Bald Eagle Area. Evie Rembold tallied nine kills against Shamokin, and Abby Brinker had 45 assists in total against BEA.
The boys soccer team struggled to get into the win column last week, but remained competitive in all three losses against Montoursville, Southern Columbia and Danville.
For the girls soccer team, it was three close losses as well. The Wildcats went 0-3 last week with losses against Montoursville, Midd-West and Jersey Shore.Avery Baker scored CM’s lone goal in the team’s loss to Midd-West.
